Week of June 1st
The beach trip was a blast. Thanks to everybody for the help. Thanks to the drivers for getting their cars all sandy! Thanks to the PBs for being so cool.
The big event this week is the last week of school. We have a dance, a graduation, and a CU party. Students should bring a change of clothing on Tuesday, because after the morning awards ceremony (8:15 a.m., get there at 8:00), the CU party gets very, very messy. Parents are invited into the portable for PB awards, but, we're sorry, adults must leave while we get messy. Remember, Tuesday is a short day. Dismissal is at 11:45 p.m.
Tuesday, June 2nd, may be the last day of school, but the PB portable is still open on Wednesday, the 3rd, for those PBs who'd like to attend. Buzz me for more information about School After the School Year. I even hear that some PBs are planning a PB reunion for early August, so stay tuned for further news about a late summer get together (each PB class has planned a summer reunion for quite a few years—it’s becoming a tradition).
There aren't enough words to say this, but here goes: Thanks to all the PB parents, students, and friends for all of the wonderful help and for all of the donations this year. You all have been super and have gone way beyond the call of duty. From goodies; from coolers to watermelons to piñatas; from Enterprise Village to the beach; you've done it all and I appreciate it!
Parents, I don't stop being a teacher just because it's summer. In particular, I can post some online math lessons throughout the summer for interested PBs. If you're interested, please let me know. If you need help with middle school transition, or anything else, you know how to reach me.
I've had a blast this year. It's time for the PBs to become Old PBs and move on to middle school. Despite my rep, I'm an old softy. It's hard for me to say goodbye to a group of kids with whom I've laughed, cried, fought and cheered; with whom I've taught and learned and hung out for an entire year. So, I won't say goodbye - I couldn't. I'll just say CU! |
