There are only a few more days left in the second marking period. It ends on Tuesday, March 5th. There have been some announced opportunities for extra credit in the past few weeks.
The deadline for the fourth Tallahassee payment has passed. If you still want your child to go, but haven't paid yet, please let me know. We will have our second car wash fundraiser for the trip on Saturday, April 13th.
There are many activities on our Moodle that can help with FCAT preparation in reading, science and math. Our weekly Friday tests are online on Moodle all week so your student can practice for them. In addition, a little time spent nightly with online FCAT practice or IXL math can really help, too! ST Math is very good too, especially for building math concepts.
We're pretty much homework-free this week so your PB can work on his or her Civil War report. There is read and respond daily, and there may be unannounced homework near the end of the week.
A few needs: shoe boxes and disinfectant wipes. Also, I haven't heard from anybody about driving on our May 30th beach field trip.

We will focus on writing and math this week, with FCAT practice each day. There will be spelling/vocabulary and reading, too. We're still doing life science in science, and will be getting our chicken eggs to hatch this week. I hope to cover the Civil War's reconstruction period this week, too. In addition, there will be some growth and development discussions.
Homework is light. There may be unannounced homework due Thursday and Friday. PBs should be writing down assignments in their notes or agendas now. Read and Respond is due each day.
Due Friday, March 1st: Bring in what you have of your Civil War report. I saw your topic headings last week. This week, I'll need to see some more sources and quite a few index cards with notes.
PBs generally have plenty of time to begin homework in class (so I can see who needs extra instruction).
All Week or Long-Term: Work on your Civil War report
