The big event this week is the school's annual Sweetheart Dance on Friday evening, February 10th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are just $1.00 in advance. I hope to see you there!

This will be a low-key week in the PB classroom. The country report is due on Friday. That's the last day I'll accept the report without a grading penalty. It is better if it's handed in early.

Our PB Valentines Event is on next week, Tuesday the 14th, which, not coincidently, is also Teddy Bear Day II. Your PB may have signed you up to send in goodies for the Valentines event. If funds are a problem for you, don't worry. We always have more than enough goodies at our PB Parties. Just let me know by Friday the 10th if you can't get any items so I can get them over the weekend. PBs may bring Valentines to the party if they have one for each PB, but that is optional.

Yes, it's Teddy Bear Day II next Tuesday on Valentines Day. PBs should bring a teddy bear to school that day. We'll have related health, math, and language activities. In addition, each PB has to make sure his or her teddy bear is well-supervised. If any teddy bears are left unattended, Mr. Roemer might try to bearnap them! Bears should be brought to school in a bag that Tuesday. There is a height restriction (no taller than knee high to a Polar Bear kid).

There will be more long-term assignments the rest of this year and less drill and daily work. We are making sure the PBs become independent middle-school students, which includes learning planning, time-management, and organization.

Rockets are an activity that we do each day after morning FCAT testing. The FCAT is being administered later this year than previously, so I'm ordering the rockets later. Each PB will need a shoebox to hold his or her rocket. Bring them in now, and I'll store them. We could use extra shoe boxes.
